Debra “Debbie” Leila Atchley

Canton – Debra “Debbie” Leila Atchley, 59, of Sandoval, IL, formerly of Canton, IL passed away at 10:44 AM on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, IL, surrounded by her family. She was born on August 13, 1957 in Canton, to Carl L. and Frances L. (Varnell) Stanley. She married Rev. Richard “’Rick” Atchley on August 30, 1975 in Canton, IL, he survives.

Also surviving are three children, Nuiel (Wendy) Atchley of Canton, Denny (Dena) Atchley of Norris, and Chelsea (Jeff) Jansen of Canton; five grandchildren, Bailey Atchley, Hannah Atchley, Claire Jansen, Deegan Atchley, and Decker Atchley; three brothers, Carl L. (Luann) Stanley Jr. of Elmwood, Randy Stanley of Peoria, and Kevin (Brenda) Stanley of Canton; and one sister, Yvonne (Mario) McKeever of Rock Springs, WY.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Kyle Atchley, one brother, Gerald “Butch” Stanley, and one sister, Karen Loveland.

Debbie worked for Joe’s Place in Norris and was a former manager of the first Casey’s in Canton. She is a member of Illinois Great Conference of United Methodist Church, Patoka United Methodist Women, and Boulder United Methodist Women. Debbie was a loving, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Services will be held at 11 AM on Monday, April 24, 2017 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton. Rev. Randy Azbell will officiate. A visitation will be held from 5-7:30 PM on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.
