Joann E. Wisniewski

 Joann E. Wisniewski, 84, of Canton, passed away at 5:28 PM on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Graham Hospital. She was born on June 14, 1932 in Portageville, NY to Lawrence and Martha (Gautreau) Waldman. She married Tadeusz Wisniewski on September 17, 1949, he preceded her in death.

Also preceding her in death are her parents and one great-grandson.

Surviving is three children, Larry (Bobbie Wishnevski) Wisniewski of Valpariso, IN, Judy (John) Dudek of Canton, and Mark (Teresa) Wisniewski of Vallejo, CA; nine grandsons, Cory, Justin, Keith, Shannon, John, Joe, Nicholas, Danny, and Jared; and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Joann was a long time dairy farmer and later a rural postal carrier. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in DuBois, IL, Catholic Daughters of America, Newman Center, a member of the City Council, and American Legion Aux. Joann loved traveling, friends, gambling, and fishing. She was a very generous person.

Memorial Mass will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in DuBois, IL, where a visitation will be held from 9-11 AM. Father Oliver Nwachukwu will officiate. Burial will follow the services at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Cemetery in DuBois, IL. Cremation rites will be accorded through Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory, Canton. Memorials can be made to St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.
