John B. Lambie Jr., 94, of Bartonville, passed away at 6:55 PM on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at UnityPoint Methodist Hospital. He was born on April 30, 1923 in Bartonville to John B. and Jeanne (Kerr) Lambie Sr. He married Willa Cook on March 24, 1944 in Peoria, IL, she survives.
Also surviving are five children, Sharon (late Charles) Kirkbride of Bartonville, John B. Lambie III of Bartonville, Alex (Sandy) Lambie of North Pekin, Mark (Anita) Lambie of Glasford, and Phyllis (David) Lamm of Ipava, IL; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Marion Hopkins of Peoria.
John was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Matthew Lambie, three brothers, and four sisters.
John retired from Limestone High School after 20 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 17 in Ipava, IL.
John served in the Army during WWII.
Services will be held at 11 AM on Monday, May 8, 2017 at Endsley-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Bartonville, IL, where a visitation will be held from 10-11 AM. Rev. Stephen W. Barch will officiate.
