Margie Lou (Wake) Plumer

Farmington – Margie Lou (Wake) Plumer, 76, of Farmington, passed away in the presence of her family at 6:42 PM on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. She was born on November 24, 1941 on N. First Ave. in Farmington, IL to Richard and C. Viola (Abel) Wake. She was the youngest of eight children raised in the First Baptist Church. She married Dick Plumer on December 10, 1960 at the First Presbyterian Church in Farmington. He survives.

Also surviving are four sons, Steven Richard (Janeen) Plumer of Marion, IL, Bruce Eugene (Kim) Plumer of Marion, IL, Daniel Wayne (Angela) Plumer of Simpsonville, S.C., and Dale Warren (Julie) Plumer of Rushville, IL; ten grandchildren, Alexis (Luke) McAnally, Mallory (Denver) Murphy, Ashton (Wade) Holcomb, Jessica, Douglas, Dalton, Mitchell, Riley, Morgan, and Madison; one great-grandson, Jameson McAnally; and two sisters, Mary Page and Julia Thurman.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents, one granddaughter, Payton, and five brothers, Arnold, Donald, Lee, Bill, and David.

Margie graduated from Farmington Schools in 1959. During high school she was a waitress in Farmington, after school she worked for Dohrn Transfer and became a farmer’s wife. When the boys entered school, she went back to work at Graham Hospital in Canton, then the Newsstand, and lastly retiring in March of 2015 from Murthy Dental in Farmington after 34 plus years. She was a member of the Fairview Reformed Church. Margie lived for and enjoyed her family.
