Marianne Rose, 83, of Farmington, Illinois, passed away on July 20, 2017, spending her final days surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Thomas C. Feeney and Pauline Duchene Feeney on February 10, 1934 in Chicago. She married John F. Rose at St. Marks in Peoria on August 23, 1952. She is survived by her husband and six children, Karen A. Rose, Peoria; Dennis A. Rose and David A. (Peggy) Rose of Farmington; Julie E. (Bryan) Lockwood of Rutherfordton, NC; Barbara L. (Tom) Brewer of rural Tremont and Susan J. Varnes of Biloxi, MS.
She is survived by 17 grandchildren: Michael Rose, John Rose, Darren Rose, Nicole (Craig) Overcash, Justin (Jessica) Rose, Joseph Rose, Mary Rose and Matthew Rose of Farmington; Aubrey Joos of Peoria; Donald Rose of Elmwood; Valerie Stum of Rutherfordton, NC; Jennifer Lockwood of Coconut Creek, FL; Bryan Lockwood, Jr. of Largo, FL; Stephanie (Chris) Long of Morgan Hill, CA; Eric Rose of Fort Collins, CO; Heidi Rose and Annie Rose of Davenport, IL.
She is also survived by 26 great grandchildren and 4 great, great grandchildren as well as one sister, Sharon (George) Patterson of Porterville, CA. She is predeceased by one brother, Richard Feeney and one granddaughter, Angela.
Marianne graduated from the Academy of Our Lady, worked alongside John to run the family farm until joining Hockenburg Rubin of Illinois and later Commerce Bank in Peoria where she retired in 1999. She was a member of St. Matthew’s Church in Farmington for over 50 years and a devoted secretary for the parish for many years. Her passions were her faith, family and reading. She also loved music and dancing.
