Robert E. Witherell

Robert E. Witherell, 84, of Washington, IL, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Unity Point Methodist in Peoria, IL. He was born on December 21, 1932 in Peoria, IL to Robert and Mary (Harkless) Witherell.

Surviving friends and family; niece, Cindy (Ron) Dobbins of Bartonville; nephew, Robert Holland of East Peoria; great nephew, Scott (Christy) Elam of Pekin; great niece, Lindsay Elam of Bartonville; great-great nephew, Riley and Dylan Elam; two cousins, Betty Viano of Canton and Ronald Bybee of Oklahoma; two great loyal friends, Andrew Eddy of Washington and Ralph “Butch” Martin.

Preceding him in death are his parents Robert and Mary (Harkless) Witherell; one sister, Nancy Ann Holland.

Robert was a plumber for many years and was part of the Local 63 Plumbers Union since 1955. He was a member of the Masons since 1957, Valley of Peoria Scottish Rite and Mohammed Shriners for 50 years. He was a lover of history and poetry. Robert was a major history buff and enjoyed opera. He was also known as the trivia pursuit champ. He lived at the villas of Holly Brook in Washington.

Robert was a Korean veteran of the United States Army.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, April 26th, 2017 at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria, IL. Pastor Bob DeBolt will officiate. A visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Tuesday, April 25,2017 with Masonic Rites at 7 PM at Endsley-Sedgwick Funeral Homes in Bartonville.
